Paura/Videomind Interview

Today, and for the very first time, I'm more than happy to introduce an artist who's coming from my very own town !!!

Hello my name is…Francesco Curci aka Paura, together with Tayone & Clementino we are Videomind

I was raised in…Camposano..Napoli ..Campania..Italy..Europe..The World...Solar System

The reason that you’re reading about me is…because I make great music

Right now I’m working on…Videomind, new tracks and new videos.

But I’d rather be…no one else

My most prized possessions are…my two nephews, who are both two years old

But I’d give it all away for…nothing

The first thing I do in the morning is…as a matter of fact, I always have 100 000 things to do, just as today.

The last thing I do at night is…put on the alarm.

My momma always said…everything allright at work?

I love it when people…people smile at me

I hate it when people…people driving fast

If you ever see me walking down the street…everything ok, you don’t need to worry

My most notable run-in with the law…unpaid tickets

If I had to say sorry it would be because…lack of tact

I get real aggro when…they touch anyone who’s close to me

The last time I swore I’d never drink was after a night of…it was around 15 years ago, and I do not regret it at all

Future projects and plans…keep on with doing music with my group

And before I leave I’d like to give a shout out to… all the narrow minded and conservative people: History has always been written by the courageous.

Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Story of A Tribe Called Quest

A Film by Michael Rapaport

Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Story of A Tribe Called Quest is a documentary film directed by Michael Rapaport about one of music’s most influential and groundbreaking pioneers in hip hop. The story is told by the members themselves as they reunite after two years during the 2008 Rock the Bells tour to deliver sold out performances . On the tour they re-discover that their own personal differences may overpower their love for the group, countless, hard-core fans, and its ability to survive the pressures of fame, the record industry, and simply pursuing other interests in life. Rapaport, himself a hard core Tribe fan from the first album, panics when Q-Tip tells him “ this could be the last show” after mounting tension erupted at the event in San Francisco. Thus, begins a journey to go back and appreciate the huge contributions made by Tribe to the “whole structure of hip hop” as stated by Amir from the Roots, one of the many artists in the film influenced by Tribe’s unique sampling and layering of obscure jazz loops mixed with hip hop beats, as well as their playful but clever lyrics. Chronicles told of songs like “Scenario” and “Check the Rhyme” paint a vivid picture of what it was like coming up in Queens as young folks living and breathing hip hop in the early nineties.

A New York native, Rapaport’s lifelong, genuine love for hip hop helps achieve intimate, all access interviews and cinema verite style filmmaking over the course of the 8 months of filming. Rarely heard stories told by New York’s legendary DJ Red Alert, Native Tongues members like Monie Love, the Jungle Brothers, Busta Rhymes, and De La Soul bring an intimacy to the days when young artists discovered the freedom of artistic intelligence, being who they wanted to be and refusing the box of gangster rap and negative stereotypes. Other voices in the film include the Beastie Boys, Kanye West and Pharrell. Serendipitously, Rapaport’s film brings forth a conversation for members of the group to deal with the trials and tribulations they have faced over the years. As Q-tip receives critical acclaim for his latest album, Phife is recovering from a kidney transplant and coaching youth basketball, Ali Shaheed is producing hit records and dj’ing across the country, and Jarobi plans to open a restaurant in Atlanta. The idea of getting back together and going on tour reminds everyone why Rock the Bells was an exception—only it’s the fans who are left thirsty for more. And this is nowhere more evident than in Rapaport himself whose die-hard love and respect for Tribe Called Quest is revealed in every part of this journey.

Yoka aka Pàssaro Imigrante Interview

This is the proof that that the street is a great place to meet great people!!!
"We Support Underground Artists"

Hello my name is… YOka a.k.a Pássaro Imigrante (migrating bird)

I was raised in…brazil, portugal, england & spain....get the name now?

The reason that you’re reading about me is…because I produce rap music and recently put out this 12" EP called Pássaro Imigrante that features people from all this places I´ve been living in and sharing my music experiences with.

Right now I’m working on…promoting my independent label "Somatoria do Barulho" to make sure you all get more underground rap music on the best format ever VINYL!!!

But I’d rather be…making beats in my home studio.

My most prized possessions are…my record collection, no doubt!

But I’d give it all away for…a ticket to Brazil right now!

The first thing I do in the morning is…look at the time.

The last thing I do at night is…kiss my lady.

My momma always said…well done my son ;-)

I love it when people…recycle their rubbish.

I hate it when people…talk about shit they don´t now and think it´s right jus´because the TV said so...

If you ever see me walking down the street…invite me to a decent party, please!!!!

My most notable run-in with the law…being kept inna imigration cell for over 4 hours trynig to go back to England 4 another great time......after stripping me down to the flash and scanning all my finger prints they let me in with the condition that I´d only pick up my passport on the way back out! DEAL!!!

If I had to say sorry it would be because…I made a mistake, no big deal.

I get real aggro when…spoiled motherfuckers make no use of basic respectful manners and jus´waste everything around them...FUCK YOU PLAYBOYS!!!

The last time I swore I’d never drink was after a night of…shots of tequila on top of inumerous pints of beer!!! I woke up with my girlfriend shouting at me while I threw up on top of our dinner table...hehehhehehehehehehe!!!

Future projects and plans…putting out the next album of the brazilian rap group Elo da Corrente and another couple of rare brazilian classics from the 70´s, as well as my second album...always on vinyl!!!

And before I leave I’d like to give a shout out to…mother nature who gives me the power and inteligence to fight this corrupt world and industry while trying to make it happen...everybody who helped me out supporting the making of this record, all the people who bought it, my dj friends who play it at the clubs and my woman and family for sticking with me and my crazy ideas. Love you´ll
;^)
