First single was called “Suspended Animation”. No release date is given, but the facts are that DJ Premier is Executive Producer of that LP. So maybe a DJ Premier production or remix will make the cut, lets hope. UK producer Bullion dove into unchartered territories on this record. He undertook a remixing project that, when done properly, produces an unrivaled uniqueness. Pet Sounds: In The Key Of Dee is a fusion of J. Dilla style and Brian Wilson‘s brainchild, The Beach Boys. This marriage doesn’t suck like so many other The Beach Boys remixes; it’s actually quite incredible. He followed J. Dilla’s lead, experimenting with chopping techniques and reorganizing the already angelic harmonies of the Boys to use them as instruments to color the beat. What makes In The Key Of Dee different is that Bullion didn’t destroy the cohesiveness of The Beach Boys’ tracks. Within the beats, Bullion managed to maintain the attractive nostalgia associated with The Beach Boys’ timeless classics. Two years after the release of their 2007 album, Smif-n-Wessun: The Album, Smif N Wessun announced that their fifth record would be produced entirely by none other than Pete Rock. The news wasn't that much of a shock aside from the fact that the duo hadn't necessarily worked with Rock before. But considering they all hail from a similar locale, New York City, and tend to focus on the grittier side of hip-hop, a collaboration amongst them seemed inevitable. Along with featuring production solely from Rock, Monumental boasts numerous guests from the Boot Camp Clik, which includes, among others, Buckshot and Sean Price.
BEATS, RHYMES & LIFE: THE TRAVELS OF A TRIBE CALLED QUEST is a documentary film directed by Michael Rapaport about one of the most influential and groundbreaking musical groups in hip-hop history. Having released five gold and platinum selling albums within eight years, A Tribe Called Quest has been one of the most commercially successful and artistically significant musical groups in recent history, and regarded as iconic pioneers of hip hop. The band’s sudden break-up in 1998 shocked the industry and saddened the scores of fans, whose appetite for the group’s innovative musical stylings never seems to diminish.
