Foreign Beggars are a critically acclaimed British Rap, Grime and Dubstep group based in London. The group consists of MCs Orifice Vulgatron, Metropolis, producer Dag Nabbit and DJ Nonames and are renowned for their eclectic and energetic live shows. Currently performing well over a hundred shows a year the group has performed with a number of high profile artists spanning a range of musical genres. Foreign Beggars release their records through Dented Records a label which was created and owned by the group to support their own material and a host of UK underground artists.

Nella classifica 2010 del sottoscritto trovate, senza dubbio alcuno, ‘Cosmogramma’ al numero uno. A mio avviso questo disco oltre ad essere compiuto e variegato quanto basta, può tranquillamente diventare una specie di riferimento per un movimento che vuole unire elettronica e elettrico. Flylo è come un pittore schizoide che unisce con il dosatore calibrato al centesimo elementi che sono in contrasto fra loro, qui però non si tratta di colori ma di mettere, togliere, rimettere hip-hop, glitch, drum’n’bass, sonorità da musical, vibrazioni jazzy con un tocco che oserei dire magico, ricordate gente ‘necro phuturo’. Dei bassi se ne occuppa Thundercat che fa un lavoro meraviglioso, ascoltate ‘Computer Face / Pure Being’ alla svelta! Nelle ospitate entra pure un signore inglese nato a Oxford che di mestiere fa il cantante di una band pop/rock Radiohead, Tom Yorke roba da poco vero?
Fa la sua comparsa nelle parti vocali di ‘…And the World Laughs With You’, tonalità dimessa. Tra i pezzi che adoro ci sono ‘Do the astral plane’ (quell’easy listening che prima dello sputtanamento si trasforma in house music macchiata di jazz), ‘German Haircut’ (così maledettamente lounge).
Questo disco che mi manda facilmente su di giri ad ogni ascolto è il suo capolavoro, é il suono che fa godere qualsiasi ragazzo amante dell’ IDM oggi.

DMC World DJ Championship

Sunday 17th October - Monday 18th October 2010
DMC's World DJ Mixing Championships, sponsored by Technics, put DMC firmly in the public eye and also played a major part in redefining the role and the image of the DJ. The idea that the DJ could create something new and vibrant with two decks, a mixer and a pile of vinyl was thrust into the public consciousness.

DMC campaigned for DJing to be recognised as the art form it had become, for the DJ's value to be appreciated and for the DJ to be put out front. The competition has grown through the years - the venues have included The Albert Hall, Wembley, Ministry of Sound, the Peter Pan club in Riccione, Brixton Academy and the Hammersmith Apollo. The formats of the competitions have developed along with the demands. In the past we've seen teams of up to three competing with mixers, samplers and the like but for now the vibe feels like we should be getting back to the basics. From now on the competition is likely to involve the essentials - two decks and a mixer. Nomore. No less.

Many great names have taken part over the years. It is the inspirational performances of the world champions that will go down in the history books - DJ Cheese (USA '86), Chad Jackson (UK '87), Cash Money (USA '88), Cutmaster Swift (UK '89), DJ David ('90 and '91), the legendary Q Bert - Rock Steady DJs (USA '92 and '93). UK fans will remember great performances by Pogo, Reckless and Bizz Nizz (all so near and yet so far).

From the UK top entries to the competition have included Carl Cox, Tony De Vit and Tim Garbutt from Utah Saints. The Italians will point to their top DJ producers such as Zappala, Gemolotto, Cocoluto and DJ Professor who all made their mark in the competition. Sweden had Rob'n'Raz, Denmark had Cutfather and Soulshock, Holland had Juan 'King Bee' Elmzoon, Norway the amazing DJ Big K twice a world finalist in spite of his blindness. More recently we've seen a new breed coming through, Roc Raider, DJ Noise and in 1998/1999/2000 DJ Craze blew the judges away with their sets and 1997's champion A-Trak from Canada aged 15 years old will surely be the youngest champion to walk away with the coveted golden turntables.

Non ricordo precisamente se la canzone diceva cosi'!!!

Forse parlava di un qualche lido caldo dove tutti si rotolano nella sabbia ;)))

Ma qui si parla di rap allo stato puro dove le donne si rotolano nel fango ;D

Sono cose serie anche se ci si scherza sopra, sono attimi di pura follia se ci si pensasse un attimo, sono sogni che si avverano in posti che non si credeva…insomma è semplicemente l'Hip Hop Kemp ...

Giunto alla nona edizione il nostro “Festival…con Atmosfera” più rappusa di ogni altro evento continua a stupire e a promettere bene per gli anni a venire…ed il prossimo anno, lo ricordiamo, sarà il decimo anniversario..aspettatevi grandi cose quindi..

Una vera e propria enclave di ideali simili anche se in popolazioni diverse, una “Repubblica del Rap” ; rap puro che sopravvive nonostante le migliaia di minchiate e situazioni che inquinano la nostra amatissima cultura.

L'Hip Hop Kemp continua anno dopo anno a infilare nomi importanti, e migliorare l'offerta di un buon festival per un pubblico che ormai tocca tutt'Europa...e non solo.

Anche quest'anno nella formula “dal mercoledì al sabato notte” la kermesse è scivolata via tutto sommato molto bene, scalette ben distribuite sui vari stages che il parco proponeva, nessun live importante in contemporanea, e una stagione direi quasi perfetta, hanno fatto si che i quattro giorni del festival si sviluppassero nella sua pienezza.

Nomi del calibro di Talib Kweli & Hi Tek, Boot Camp Click al gran completo, Masta Ace ormai ospite quasi fisso del festival, quest'anno presentatosi con il socio di Boston, Edo G, gente come Necro , Sabac Red , Bekay , Lord Lhus , Snowgoons , Fashawn & Exile …insomma, i nomi che ascolti durante tutto un inverno con le loro nuove uscite, e pensate che bello, d'estate te li ritrovi tutti davanti ad esibirsi in quei giorni; tanti magari insieme nello stesso show, tutti certamente a far emozionare e stupire un pubblico carico come non mai ... proprio niente male direi !!!

Da Large Professor a Chali 2na, passando per gli europei Roots Manuva , Foreign Beggars , Sat L'Artificier fino ad arrivare a show come Lewis Parker assieme a John Robinson , Phat Kat con Elzhi , ecc..il Kemp si riconferma una fucina di artisti affamati di palco, diversi stili di una cultura che ormai abbraccia il pianeta che si mixano in un mixtape giornaliero che ti ascolti dal vivo, una situazione da cardio palma, che nonostante si ripeta negli anni rimane emozionante come se fosse la prima volta... un po’ come scopare insomma ;)))

Da quest'anno assodato la buonissima e rodata line up che negli anni non smette di stupire, gli organizzatori hanno lavorato, secondo me, anche molto sulla qualità dei servizi; dai due bar sulla spiaggia artificiale in un laghetto che anno dopo anno migliora di aspetto, ai vari tornei : poker, basket, bmx, skate, e l'indimenticabile catch nel fango, ai differenti giochi disponibili come arrampicata, calcio saponato, bungee jumping, flyng fox sul main stage, paintball e altri che magari dimentico… i visitatori avevano così vari modi per svagarsi nei momenti senza show importanti, dai tanti shop di streetwear e dischi dove magari incontravi facilmente qualche artista in giro, ai tantissimi barettini e bancarelle del cibo.. il Kemp quindi, anno dopo anno, sta migliorando la qualità di quello che sta intorno allo show, e addirittura i bagni quest'anno iniziavano ad essere un qualcosadi più umano eh eh

Cosa dire.. un sacco di complimenti ad Affro e alla famiglia Depo Crew/BBarak che stanno continuando ad affermarsi come il team di organizzatori più peso d' Europa da anni.. insomma, sono nove anni che ci stanno calciando il culo con buonissimo hip hop e un’atmosfera senza eguali.

Big Up ovviamente anche a Paolo e all'organizzazione dell'Ufficio Kemp Italia, che offre sia a chi non è mai venuto, sia a quelli che hanno ormai già il Kemp nel cuore, sei anni di esperienza sul campo e un sacco di consigli utili .

Degna di nota sempre più è quindi la partecipazione degli italiani, che con Clementino accompagnato da Dj Ego, Maxi B & Metro Stars e il solito zoccolo duro di regaz che da anni viene al Kemp ( parlo della gente toscana, dei bolognesi, di noi reggiani, dei napulilli.. e quest'anno addirittura partecipanti da Enna) stanno anno dopo anno, continuando ad affermare la presenza nella penisola di chi ancora crede alla purezza delle cose, alla serietà del rap classico, all'indispensabile passione che l'underground richiede, al dare senza magari ricevere, alla fotta che ci contraddistingue ..... bella regaz!!!

Un mega props poi anche a Gold, che da quest'anno, lo ricordiamo, ha lanciato la maglietta edizione limitata dell’ Hip Hop Kemp, disponibile nei giorni del festival nello shop BBarak, e normalmente presso lo shop Gold ovviamente...

Che dire infine... ah ... grazie a dei grandi temerari di Bolo (la crew di Onda Underground) avremo presto un concentrato video tutto italiano sul Kemp …ulteriori info le troverete su Hiphopkemp.it non appena terminato il tutto ...

Insomma... chiudendo il cerchio, come sempre e come in aspettativa per il sesto anno consecutivo visto dai miei occhi, il Kemp si conferma un appuntamento fisso dell'estate rappusa , consigliato a chi non è mai venuto, confermato dalle presenze dei soliti amici per chi ci viene da un po' ... vi saluto, e anche per il prossimo anno non cambiare .....

A tribute to Jay Dee aka J Dilla
James Dewitt Yancey (February 7, 1974 – February 10, 2006), better known by the stage names J Dilla and Jay Dee, was an American record producer who emerged from the mid-1990s underground hip hop scene in Detroit, Michigan. According to his obituary at NPR.org, he "was one of the music industry's most influential hip-hop artists, working for big-name acts like De La Soul, Busta Rhymes and Common.
Yancey's career began slowly. He has now become highly regarded, most notably for the production of critically acclaimed albums by Common, Busta Rhymes, A Tribe Called Quest, The Pharcyde, and Erykah Badu. He was a member of Slum Village and produced their acclaimed debut album Fan-Tas-Tic (Vol. 1) and their follow-up Fantastic, Vol. 2.
In the early 2000, Yancey's career as a solo artist began to improve; A solo album Welcome 2 Detroit was followed by a collaborative album with California producer Madlib, Champion Sound, which catalyzed the careers of both artists. Just as his music was becoming increasingly popular, Yancey died in 2006 of the blood disease TTP.
Following J Dilla's death, the hip hop community became centered upon his music and image. Many of the artists with whom Yancey worked performed or recorded tributes, and a large group of followers voiced their support for the late musician. Yancey's music experienced a rebirth as the producer gained many times more listeners than he had during his life, partly due to media exposure. Though several posthumous albums have been released and others are planned, the massive amounts of unreleased recordings by the producer remain somewhat undetermined. Yancey's estate has also been controverted.
