Dexter St, jock is British born Barbadian art brut MC he’s also one half of London’s afro-centric hip hop duo Savage Ballet. Years before sharing stages with Jeru Da Damaja, Ghost face, Boots (the Coup) and John Robinson the young man took an interest in hip-hop at an early age. He was particularly inspired by MC’s Posdnuos of De La Soul, Chi Ali and early nineties group Rumpletilskinz .By his mid to late teens
he hooked up with local rap group Dirty Spades, who’s members included a pre Kiss FM Shortee Blitz, The group was short lived.

It was around this time just after the split he went on a solo mission to get his act together. He took to tagging, drawing in his sketch pad, visiting the various museums and galleries around the city. Gradually this lead to him drifting back into writing lyrics. About a year later he linked up with MC Versetyle through mutual friends. The two eventually pooled their resources and under the name Blakteria released the all styles no substance EP in spring of 2003.

After the groups dissolution Dexter went on to work with London hip hop main stays AM, Lewis Parker and Unsung Heroes. He would later go on to form the group Rogues Gallery with close friend Kobi playing at local hip-hop nights such as
Blacktronica and Kung fu. Shortly there after in 2008, he met a Jamaican born and raised producer/dub poet Eriq Sterling and went on to found Savage Ballet; the rest is history. From here on out they have one mission, and that is to transform every room they enter into a musical instrument…

Today, we would like to announce the upcoming debut album by David Vangel (formerly just Vangel) on Equinox Records called “Breadth Control”. The album is a really beautiful collection of 13 tracks and will be available in Vinyl, CD, & Digital formats on May 20th.

Breadth Control is a mind altering affair loaded with emotive melodies, explosive dynamics, and savage gauntlets of fierce drum programming. Raising the bar, the 13-track collection is a fusion of sampling and live instrumentation, including elements of hiphop, jazz, indie rock, electronic, gentle psychedelia, and even world music. The journey of “Breadth Control” is intense; moving listeners with orchestral string arrangements and an overall cinematic quality that creates abstract visions ranging from optimism to melancholy.

On a thematic level, “Breadth Control” is an exploration of the scope of human thinking while it is engaged in sound and music. A musical experience that is the intermingling of genres, the debut LP is the future of electronic music from the brain of one of Canada’s most prominent sound pioneers.

The album artwork, created by The Raincoatman, follows a simple and elegant black & white theme with extensive design.
Special design features include: white vinyl and a printed inlay for the LP release, and a custom digipak sleeve for the CD release.

At the end of the month, look out for the Video produced by Canadian production company: Pistoltrixx, for the first Single off the album.

Producing a genuine Hip Hop sound, BEROOTS BANGERS creates a distinguished production work where the analog MPC sound is mixed with electro's arrangements. Altogether to create a both classic and modern sound served with Barcelona's suburbs flavor and Paris culture's of lyrics.

BEROOTS BANGERS consist of Zemo and Enes.
Between the two of them they produce, write, sing, record, arrange and edit, taking care of every steps of their project in they Barcelona's studio: LAINE REC STUDIO.

Zemo “The Artist” is the Spanish voice of BEROOTS, being the main producer of the album. Zemo starts in the Spanish Hip Hop scene in the 90's being part of 7 Notas 7 Colores, Masstone or Elements projects, growing also as a producer. Established emecee and confirmed lyricist, Zemo is nowadays one of the stand out artist of Spanish Hip Hop scene.

Enes “The Scientist”, the French voice of BEROOTS, besides his strong intervention in the production process, is in charge of the editing and mastering studio part, providing the shape of BEROOTS sound. Compromised lyricist, Enes grew up among French Hip Hop in Paris suburb Creteil before moving to Barcelona where he leaves nowadays.

BEROOTS BANGERS bursts in Hip Hop by means of a brand singular artistic exposition provided by the hand of independents artists.

Ladies and Gentlemen Mr Apollo Brown
Apollo Brown is different than most producers. He grew up on the Seals and Crofts—not the Isley Brothers—version of “Summer Breeze.” Born into a bi-racial family in Grand Rapids, Michigan, his early influences skewed more toward the music of Journey and the Carpenters than the urban genres his peers often cite as inspiration. This is not to say that once hip-hop came into play, Apollo wasn’t all in. Just as easily as he can praise the virtues of yacht rock, the 29-year-old beatsmith can name personal heroes—Gang Starr, Wu-Tang, Mobb Deep, M.O.P., Nas, and Black Moon—from the early 90s period in which, for him, beats and rhymes became life. .... Apollo began making his own music in 1996 using now-archaic Voyetra audio software, then upgraded to Cool Edit 2000 in becoming a self-described bedroom beat-maker for roughly the next eight years. After graduating from Michigan State University with a degree in business administration, he moved to the west side of Detroit and immersed himself in the local hip-hop community, forming the Black Day in July production crew with high school classmate and Wu-Tang affiliate Bronze Nazareth. When the pair branched off into individual work, Apollo relocated to the east side of the Motor City and continued to build before becoming disenchanted with music and stepping away from production for two years. .... It was the mid-2000s, and the upstart producer saw no future for his work—work he had dedicated his life to—in an industry where radio was setting a formulaic pattern for mainstream music. But he eventually began to miss the creativity in his craft and began producing once again, releasing the instrumental albums Skilled Trade (2007) and Make Do (2009). Apollo was soon in high demand, collaborating with Detroiters Finale, MaGestiK LeGenD, Danny Brown, Paradime, and Kam Moye aka Supastition. He went on in 2009 to win the Detroit Red Bull Big Tune Championships and competed in the national finals. Apollo then signed as a producer with the Mello Music Group in December of 2009, having left Michigan in late 2007 to take a position as a property inspector in Cleveland, Ohio. A week after signing, he was laid off from his job. .... “Beautiful,” was Apollo’s reaction, as he viewed the layoff as a blessing and prepared for what he terms his “one-year plan.” Starting things off will be The Reset, a series of reworked tracks in true remix tradition, with new music and arrangements for verses by Rapper Big Pooh of Little Brother, Black Milk, MED, Grap Luva, labelmates Kenn Starr, Oddisee and Diamond District, along with a host of others. 2010 collaborations include the Brown Study album as half of the group UPS with Boog Brown, a new album from Daily Bread with Rochester, New York MC Hassaan Mackey, and the long-awaited Gas Mask LP as one-third of The Left with DJ SoKo and MC Journalist 103. .... Apollo’s credo is simple: “Everything I make, I try to make it my favorite album of all time.” He is building on the foundation laid down by Nas’ Illmatic and Black Moon’s Enta Da Stage in hopes of taking it one step further, and most important, is past the trepidation felt in the past. Radio is good, but Apollo’s music is for the children of the underground. 2010 is the year in which he stakes his claim to make Apollo Brown a household name
